Lockdown Chili

This is a hearty, low effort, one pot meal, great for a lazy winter home-day. The only real work that you need to do is dice onion, chop carrots, and like Bob Marley said, STIR IT UP.

Fry onions, meat in EVOO. High flame.
Mix with chili powder, garlic powder, salt, sugar, black pepper, crushed red pepper, bay leaf.
Add beans, tomatoes, broth. Simmer till soft.
Add carrots, cook till tender.
Ingredients (in order of use):
~1 cup diced onion
~2 tbsp EVOO
~2 lbs ground turkey/beef
~2 tbsp chili powder, garlic powder 
-salt, black pepper (to taste)
-1 tbsp sugar
-red pepper flakes (to taste)
~bay leaf
~2 cups diced tomatoes
~2 cups dried beans (soaked overnight)
~1 cup chicken/beef broth
~2 cups chopped carrots

Enjoy alone or with rice/cornbread, sour cream/yogurt, cheese, hot sauce, scallions, etc.
